AUDITIONING FOR LDYE
LDYE is a teaching ensemble for string musicians from ages 8 to 18. Admission to LDYE is based on audition. Auditions for LDYE are held each year in June and are open to any regional string instrument players in grades 3-12. Interested students must be able to read music and to play at least a level 2 NYSMA solo (book 2 Suzuki) and a two-octave major scale. In order to audition for LDYE, students should be prepared to play a selection of scales and a solo piece of their choosing. Auditions will also include assessment of sight reading ability.
